Caversham Park Tennis Club
Overview
Set in parkland with ample free parking we have 6 hard courts available, all of which are in excellent condition and floodlit for year round usage. The clubhouse, built in 2010 is a great place to relax before or after a match and offers mens and ladies changing/shower room, disabled access/toilet and full kitchen facilities. The club is home to around 200 members with players of all ages and abilities.
The club runs social tennis sessions throughout the week where members of all levels can come along and play in a relaxed and fun environment. For the more competitive players there are singles box leagues, club competitions and team sessions where you can improve your game and test yourself against players of similar ability.
The club has 14 teams in the Berkshire Summer League (ladies, men's, mixed and vets) and 4 in the Aegon leagues. As our club has continued to grow and attract better players our teams have achieved much success in the leagues and climbed up the divisions.
Club History
The club was formed in 1969 when club members used local public and school courts to enjoy their tennis. In 1979 four tennis courts at the Clayfield Copse location were built along with a wooden clubhouse which opened in 1980. In 2009 we received funding from the Tennis Foundation to build a new clubhouse as well as upgrade to 6 floodlight courts, and now the club has some of the best facilities in the local area.
Clubmark Status
In 2011, we were awarded Clubmark status by Roger Draper, Chief Executive of the LTA. Clubmark is the universally acknowledged cross sport accreditation scheme for community sports clubs but later rebranded to Tennismark.
